MOTOREX DYNCO

Minimum quantities in the fresh oil canister and additive container

The minimum oil or additive level must be at least 1 cm. If the level falls below this, air will enter the appliance circuit. This leads to malfunctions.

DYNCO appliance self-test: A self-test can be carried out by connecting the two hoses. If there is a fault, this is displayed after the self-test, e.g. "Waste oil tank sensor faulty".

To prevent air from entering the DYNCO circuit, PRE-FLUSH can be filled into the additive canister (approx. 1 cm) before the scale is calibrated.

Oil level after oil type change

The oil change can be divided into several phases:

  • In one of the first steps, the device requests confirmation that the oil level in the transmission is sufficient.

  • Once the process has started, the transmission oil passes through the DYNCO to determine the temperature and runs back into the transmission (with the vehicle engine running).

  • From 40°C, the flow direction of the oil is checked and compared with that provided by the device. Approx. 3 dl of oil flows into the waste oil container.

  • Depending on the situation of the connected lines, a further test with the other line may be necessary. As in the previous step, a further 3 dl of oil escapes into the waste oil container.

  • The specified amount of oil is then replaced; this is the actual maintenance work.

  • After the oil change, the necessary oil is added using the "Top up" function in order to reach and check the required level. The oil quantity is defined as approx. 1 litre, depending on the gearbox and designer.

It should be noted that the 3 or 6 dl of oil required to determine the direction of flow are not included here. In extreme cases, only 4 dl are therefore available. If the oil level was not topped up at the start of the process, this missing quantity must also be added. The change quantity and any several steps of the level check are listed individually on the printer label.

Oil designation and oil selection

The device monitors the oil change based on the temperature and specific weight of the transmission oil. As new products have been introduced since the last software update, not all of them are yet listed in the oil selection menu. You will find the list below, which in the meantime allows the oil selection to be assigned according to these specifications.

Error display: "Oil change error oil drain"

The error: "Oil change, oil drain error" may sporadically appear during flushing. This is due to air being sucked in through the empty additive tank.

Venting the MOTOREX DYNCO

  1. Fill 0.5 litres of ATF oil into the additive container (10)

  2. Place an empty container under the tap (14)

  3. Select the "Add additive" step in the function list using the SELECT button.

  4. Repeat the process if necessary so that no more air comes out of the tap, only oil.

  5. Make sure that there is approx. 1 cm of product in the additive container and calibrate the additive scale.

ADAPTER

Downstream connection of the "Dr Flux" flow valve (1002126)

For some time now, various gearboxes from different manufacturers have been fitted with a safety valve to prevent leakage into the environment. This valve closes the oil flow when there is no longer a minimum residual pressure. This residual pressure must be created for the flushing process, which is carried out by adapter 1002126.

This adapter is connected to the supply line on the outside of the filter. Please follow the exact instructions on the adapter application carefully. If the information "Insufficient oil flow" is displayed after the flow direction detection process, this adapter may be necessary. However, the adapter may also have been installed imprecisely so that the two flow directions are not separated.

Please check the installation again for incorrect positions of the adapter or seals. The information "Insufficient oil flow" is also displayed if the gearbox is a "LOW FLOW" gearbox.

Adapter designations

In future, the last 4 digits of the article number will be added to the respective adapter during production. This makes it easier to select the right adapter.

GM gearbox oil change

Gearbox:

8L45 & 8L90 von GM

Adapter:

1002077

GM is ordering two transmission types to be re-oiled as part of a recall campaign. In future, a different quality of oil will prevent a second acceleration jerk. The work involved will be very time-consuming and can be massively reduced with the DYNCO.

Please ask your MOTOREX contact person if you have any questions.

Adapter gearbox 09D (VW Group)

Gearbox:

09D, classic automatic transmission with torque converter

Adapter:

1002122

According to a DYNCO user, the adapter 1002122 also fits the above-mentioned gearbox.

We do not yet have any photos that show the application and allow the literature to be supplemented. We kindly ask you to send us meaningful photos if possible. We would also be grateful for any additional information on existing adapters that can be applied to other gearbox types. This will enable everyone involved in the DYNCO network to significantly increase the efficiency of the DYNCO device.

ATF OILS

ATF CT8

ATF:

CT 8

Art Nr:

309331 (B25)

We have another oil available for ZF transmissions (ZF 8HP). The product with the designation ATF CT 8 (Construction & Transport) was developed for the special operating conditions of commercial vehicles, e.g. Iveco Hitronic transmissions. Special features include:

  • The additive package is close to the original product and based on semi-synthetic base oils

  • Especially suitable for the payload driving profile.

  • It also fulfils the Lifeguard 8 specifications.

Please note that ZF prescribes Lifeguard 9 for 8-speed transmissions in combination with hybrid systems. In contrast to ATF BLUE (Lifeguard 9), ATF CT 8 is not designed to be used in hybridised systems. The high-voltage systems require special additives to maintain reliability. ATF CT 8 is therefore generally intended for commercial vehicles (without electric hybrids).

FUNCTIONAL NOTES

"Low Flow" / Operating problem

Getriebe:

AISIN WARNER, 8-speed gearbox, transverse installation

Bez.:

GA8F22AW - BMW & Mini

TG-81-SC - Volvo

AF50-8 - Opel/Vauxhall

AWF8F45 - Cadillac

UA8xx - Toyota

AQ450 / 09Q - Volkswagen

A useful feature is that the flow to the heat exchanger is not regulated by a thermostat but by a servo valve. This reduces the flow rate and prevents the DYNCO from recognising the direction of flow. In order to achieve the necessary flow rate, the processes for the DYNCO must be carried out with the R gear engaged. This means that

  • temperature detection and

  • oil replacement

will be carried out with the "wheels stationary" and engaged R gear. Please guarantee "stationary wheels" with the brake servo! Only for the duration of these two processes and not unnecessarily longer! During the cleaning process with the PRE FLUSH ADDITIV , all gears must be engaged alternately every 1 minute as usual.

This gearbox is available in two types with different designations. One type requires the R gear for the change as described above. The adapters for this are different.

This gearbox generation is listed in this link.

🆕Peugeot / Citroën Oil Change process problems

Gearbox: AM6 Manufactured by AISIN WARNER and fitted to Citroëns and Peugeots from 2000. As for article "Low Flow", the quantity of oil for the cooling process is calculated by thermal sensors and controlled by a solenoid valve. There is insufficient oil flow to detect the direction of flow. When a gear change is engaged, the solenoid valve opens for about 2 seconds. This is why the oil replacement procedure is as follows:

  • The oil temperature must be reached and the Dynco connected.

  • The entire flushing programme (cleaning process yes/no, oil quantity) must be saved.

  • The oil change must be started. Immediately afterwards, the gear selector lever should be operated every 2 seconds, switching continuously from "Drive" to "Manual 1st gear, if possible 2nd gear", and from "Drive" to "Manual 1st gear, if possible 2nd gear".

These conditions enable oil flow to be obtained and, consequently, the direction of flow to be detected and the cleaning process to be carried out (to do this, also switch gear R) and the oil to be changed.

The adapter required for this is in preparation. In the meantime, adapter 1002084 can be used, but the mounting must be adapted. (Use 2 large washers or self-locking pliers if necessary).

GOOD TO KNOW

Diagnosis of torque converter lock-up clutch

Example:

If a jerk usually occurs at the same time as gearstick 1-2, the gearshift range can be limited to first gear with the selector lever or the steering wheel shift buttons on the next attempt. If the jerk can still be felt shortly after starting off, even though the transmission is not shifting up, it is most likely due to the torque converter lock-up clutch engaging.

If the torque converter lock-up clutch is defective, the damage is mechanical and simply changing the ATF will not improve the situation.
